I Have Weird Toes

This is what I look like without make-up or filters. I want to talk about why it's important for me and also you to believe you're beautiful and deserve to celebrate yourself. Most of my childhood and teen years people told me I was ugly, fat and the way I look was made into a joke. I've talked about this before, but if you didn't know I had an eating disorder in my late teens and early 20s. Self love takes a long time to achieve and it's not an easy process. I also know that dark skin girls are often put down and told that we are less than. It's important for us to believe and to tell people yes, I am beautiful! Having typical black features (a broad nose etc.) is often seen as unattractive. But we need to believe that they are attractive, because they are! Small boobs are seen as less attractive. Stretch marks, cellulite, back rolls, "bat wing" arms, etc. (All things that I have). But these things make us who we are. We're human. Nobody is perfect but you should still feel confident in yourself and love yourself. We also all have random things we're self conscious about, for example I'm very confident in myself now, but I still wear closed toed shoes at all times because I have weird toes.🤷🏿♀️ it's a really small and random thing but I think it's interesting the things we knit pick about ourselves.
Beauty is also in the eye of the beholder of course. I may think certain things are attractive that you may not and vise versa. We all have different ideals, but I hope that you can look at yourself in the mirror and think "damn. I am a hot ass bitch" because you deserve that. Something that I've done once a year to celebrate myself, my body and journey to self love is book a shoot with @capitolbombshell it celebrates my confidence and beauty. I feel empowered when I'm choosing outfits I feel confident in and posing and choosing the photos I love. And obviously our value should not be put in looks alone, as those fade. Who you are as a human, your mind, your heart and your spirit also make a person beautiful.
